Created by HRH Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh in 1956 the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme focuses on 4 key areas of personal development aimed at empowering young people around the world. The four areas are Volunteering, Skill, Expeditions and Physical.

When you join the Air Cadets you will be able to complete the Blue DofE Award which will give you a taste of what the main scheme will be like. After that once you turn 14 you will be able to complete the Bronze, Silver and Gold Award.

Gold Award Winners are invited to collect their award from a member of the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace.
