Whether you are an experienced marksman or have never handled a rifle there are plenty of opportunities to experience shooting within the Air Cadets.

Most Cadets start on the Scorpion Cadet Rifle or the L144 Small Bore Rifle. Learning how to handle the rifle correctly and range procedures before completing a Weapons Handling Test (WHT) to prove that they can safely operate the rifle.

More experienced cadets can try the L98A2 Cadet General Purpose Rifle or the L81A2 Cadet Target Rifle again being provided with comprehensive training and having to undergo a WHT before Live Firing.

Finally, for all levels you have Clay Target Shooting (CTS) where you can have a go at firing a shotgun at clay targets.

With both the L144 and L98A2 there is the opportunity to earn marksman badges which represent your skills and achievements such as representing the Corps in competitions.
